Learning to Cook Thai

Thai Food is one of the world's great cuisines, and is increasing in popularity. While most people think spicy when they think of Thai food, its appeal is actually in the blend and balance of two or more different flavors; spicy, salty, sweet, and sour. By learning about the ingredients and what goes into making Thai food, you'll be able to modify these recipes to find your own ideal balance between flavors.

When Aunchalee moved to the USA, she would cook Thai food for her friends and family. She was amazed at their reaction. They loved the food but all of them thought that it was far too hard to make. She felt a little guilty because all of this amazing Thai food actually only took about 20 minutes to prepare and cook.

The only thing holding you back from cooking Thai Food is the perception that it is too complicated, and you may also be a little intimidated because Thai Food uses ingredients and sauces that you aren’t familiar with.

We decided to make a DVD that teaches you not only how to cook a specific dish, but explained the ingredients, what they were, what they tasted like, and where to get them. Some you may have to find in an Asian grocerey store, or if you don't have one nearby, you can always order them online.

I have always loved Asian cuisine, but never had Thai food before, because I was told it was very spicy. On a pack of rice noodles I saw a recipe for Pad Thai, and I thought well that does not sound spicy and I googled Pad Thai, which brought me to your site and all your wonderful videos. Your delightful manner and ease in which you show us how to cook such flavorful dishes has made me a convert to Thai food, I even have started to add some chilies.

Daniel
Thank you for your wonderful website! Your videos with the step by step methods have helped me so much in understanding Thai cooking techniques.
